At sea, off the coast of South Florida, real grass tickled the tips of my flip-flopped toes. I was standing on the deck of a cruise ship where an artisan was demonstrating how to blow a glass vase. The work in progress glowed orange when he removed it from a small furnace, accompanied by a smattering of appreciative applause.

Expect such tickles to the senses if you come aboard the new Celebrity Solstice, as this latest wonder of the seas is not a typical cruise ship.
Celebrity Cruises' new Solstice not only is one of the prettier ships I've seen, but it's also a style setter, with a dazzling contemporary design -- posh as a country club, sophisticated as an arty home. The ship's less affluent passengers will feel they have stepped out and up on their vacation at sea.
