Celebrity Cruises will build its largest ship for the last of the five-vessel Solstice series.
Celebrity Reflection will be about 3 feet wider than other Solstice vessels to expand restaurants and public areas, and to carry an extra passenger deck with cabins and suites connected to the spa, the cruise line announced today.
Celebrity Reflection will carry 3,030 passengers at double occupancy, up from 2,850 passengers on Celebrity Solstice, Celebrity Equinox and Celebrity Eclipse, and 2,886 on Celebrity Silhouette, due out in summer 2011. Reflection is set to debut in fall 2012.
Major changes on Celebrity Silhouette and Celebrity Reflection are on the top deck, where the cruise line introduced the Lawn Club -- with real grass -- on Celebrity Solstice.
New will be the Lawn Club Grill, to be used in the day for demonstrations and cooking classes, and at night as a restaurant where passengers may choose their meat, grill it if they want, or allow a chef to cook it. The 56-seat Club Grill will carry a $30 fee per person.
Also new on the top deck will be a casual restaurant, The Porch (without fee), for breakfast and lunch; The Art Studio, for daytime art classes and special dinners; and eight Alcoves, private cabanas for two-to-four passengers (at daily and half-day fees yet to be determined).
Gone will be glass-blowing exhibitions and the Corning Museum of Glass, both of which will remain on the first three Solstice ships.
